First Time On a Slide

We took Connor to the park this evening and ran into a real estate agent we had met with to see a house. It turns out that she has a 3 month old son and a 12 year old son, so she frequents the park often. Anyway, I got so caught up talking to her and her husband that I wasn't paying any attention to Connor or Jimmy. As the sun started to go down the real estate agent and her family decided to leave, so I finally turned my attention to my own family. Jimmy asked me, "Hey, Melissa, stand at the bottom of the slide so that you can catch Connor." A little frightened by the thought of Connor going down the slide by himself, I replied, "Are you sure he will go down the slide alone?" Jimmy answered yes and I asked one more question. "How do you know that he will like going down the slide by himself?" Jimmy then quickly answered, "He won't have a choice!" Then, he sent Connor sailing towards me. I snapped a quick picture before I caught him. It was so dark I could not see the expression on his face, but from the looks of the picture I think he did like going down the slide by himself. I guess I have a lot to learn about raising a boy.
