Waiting Patiently

Connor so badly wanted to help Jimmy install his new surround sound theater system. He kept hanging out at the bottom of the ladder and looking at me. Then, he would look up, look back at me, and say "Okay?" I think that's his way of asking if he could climb up the ladder like Daddy.
.
We explained to him that it is "dangerous" and that he needed to just watch. I gave him a bag of peanut M&M's to keep him preoccupied. We're thankful that he is getting better at following directions and doesn't try to challenge us.
.
Later that night, Jimmy went into the attic to attach the wires to the sound system. He kept hollering to me through the walls and I would answer him back. Connor was so confused. He would run up to the hole in the wall (where Jimmy had removed the cable outlet plate) and yell, "Hey, Jimmy!" He had me laughing the entire time Jimmy was in the attic. It's kind of funny to see a toddler calling there parent by their first name. But, what was really funny is that I don't think he knew that "Jimmy" was really Daddy.
.
As of today, Connor still thinks we have someone named Jimmy living in our walls. He was hanging out with me in Parker's room when he suddenly climbed up the bed, ran to the wall and hollered, "Hey, Jimmy!" It is so funny!
