Nana, Granddaddy, Aunt Elayne and Cousins Come to Visit

My Mom, Dad, sister and her four children visited us this past week. They arrived Sunday afternoon, after a two-day drive from Mobile, AL. Here are just a few highlights from their visit:

Emily, Amanda and Connor waking up after their first "slumber party."

Emily gets the potty training seat stuck around her neck. Apparently, not everything is bigger in Texas.

The gang visited an active movie set where John Wayne's epic movie The Alamo was filmed. Alamo Village was built to authentically replicate San Antonio during the early 1800's. Additional construction serves production companies as a fort, hacienda, frontier town and a deserted Mexican village.

Connor was more interested in the herd of Texas Longhorns that roam the ranch along with quarterhorses, goats, and sheep. He cried when I told him that he could not play with the horses and cows.

My nephew, Christian, staying cool.

We spent Thursday shopping in La Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, and enjoyed dinner at our favorite restaurant, Manuel's.

On Friday, we ventured out to Sea World, San Antonio. It was hot, so the kids chose to spend most of their time at the water park. We did manage to break away to catch a Shamu show.

My sister's four kids: Christian (9 mos.), Emily (4), Amanda (7) and Courtney (10).

Connor getting his second wind after the park had closed and Daddy had told him that he bought a summer pass so that we could come back again.

We spent Saturday touring San Antonio. We had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe on the River Walk. We felt that it would be one of the few restaurants where six children, ranging in ages from 5 mos. to 10 yrs., could get a little loud without being noticed.

After a late lunch, we toured the Alamo and museum, and then said our goodbyes.
