Where the boys are not

This past Saturday, I had the chance to get together with a bunch of my college girlfriends. I hadn't seen some of them since 2001. I attended a "Sip and See," for a friend of mine who had a baby in October. We were originally supposed to have had a baby shower for her earlier, but Hurricane Katrina forced the plans to be altered.

It was my first road trip without Connor, and I missed him so much. I left the house at 9 am to head for Biloxi, MS and did not reunite with Connor and Jimmy until around 6 that night. After leaving the party, I decided to drive along the coast to see the destruction of the hurricane first hand. Words can't describe what I saw. I frequented the area quite a bit between Krispy Kreme grand re-openings, luxury development ground breakings and family get togethers, but felt very lost when I could not pick out a single landmark. I consider myself very fortunate to have avoided such a catastrophic event.
