Happy New Year!

Better late than never. Our New Year's Eve celebration was not quiet as we had planned. We recovered from the holidays during the week following Christmas and decided that we would ring in the new year with a high school friend of Jimmy's (Billy McGill), his wife (Lindsay) and their two year-old son (Harrison).

The guys cooked while Lindsay and I played with the boys. We finally ate about a half an hour before the new year. We watched fireworks on TV, followed by an episode of Saturday Night Live. We were surprised to see Jessica Simpson's sister singing live (I'm assuming) again. Watching her is like watching a train wreck. We couldn't take our eyes off of her. I guess the wine, champagne and frozen drinks made the entertainment more bearable.

We finally went to bed around 2 a.m.--would you believe that Connor hung with us the entire night? He reminds me of your typical teenage boy, late to bed and late to rise. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed sleeping in with him. In fact, my sister jokes with me about not being able to get anywhere before noon because Connor and I sleep late in the mornings.

I can't believe 2005 has already come and gone. Connor turns 1 on the 25th of this month and is becoming such a big boy. I can only wonder what great things 2006 has in store for us now that Connor has entered our lives.
