Father's Day Fun

While the boys and I were in my hometown visiting family, Jimmy was working in Nuevo Loredo, Mexico. So Father's Day weekend was the first time we had seen one another in more than 2 months. Connor and Parker were so excited to see their Daddy Saturday afternoon. We spent hours hanging out around the house before finally deciding to head to Chili's for dinner.
The next day, I made a big breakfast (bacon, scrambled and fried eggs, biscuits and orange juice), Jimmy opened his Father's Day gifts, we went to Mass (the boys were both so well behaved) and then hung out around the house some more (despite Connor's pleas to go "swimming in the big pool." He started swim lessons last week and cannot get enough time practicing what he has learned.
Later that afternoon, I went grocery shopping with Connor to pick up a few things for a special Father's Day dinner and birthday celebration for our neighbor (and Connor's best friend), Dan. We had steak, chicken, corn on the cob (both Connor and Parker loved it), baked beans, baked potatoes and strawberry shortcake.

Connor and Parker topped off the night by going skinny dipping in the baby pool. Parker wants to do everything Connor does, including running around naked in the backyard. While visiting in Mobile, I took the boys to have their pictures taken together. They were so cute, but more interested in playing with one another than taking pictures. We managed to get a few good shots to give to Jimmy for one of his presents. We also gave him a couple of shirts we thought would look nice on him.
