Jimmy, Connor and I looked at several homes -- probably more than 20 -- and didn't find anything we liked that was in our desired location, had the floorplan we wanted and fit our price range. So, we've decided to build. We learned that a well-known builder in the area had broke ground on a home in the neighborhood we like best, so we were urged by friends to give him a call. We met with him the following day and loved the floorplan. We were even fortunate enough to be able to make a few changes. It will be one of the smaller houses in the neighborhood, but we think it is a good decision because other houses in the same area sell within a couple of weeks. That's most important to us because we don't plan to be in Del Rio for more than five years.
Below are a few pictures of a similar house the builder completed a few months ago on the street behind our house. We've decided to change the roof from gable to hip and plan to make changes to the entry way too.
We don't like the brick or paint choices for the above house and would like to choose a brick similar to the house below.
