Sick and tired

Jimmy visited this past weekend. He was only here for about 2 days and Connor was sick the entire time. He's officially had his first virus and boy was it a good one. He had the doctors a little confused because other than a high temp, he did not have any other symptoms associated with a virus. They finally did a blood count and determined, "he's extremely virul."

He wouldn't eat the entire time he was sick so he has weened himself from the remaining two bottle feedings he was still having everyday. He's moved on to sippy cups, yogyrt, fruits, vegetables and a few finger foods.

Connor is much better now and back in to everything. As I type, he is opening all the drawers in the kitchen. I'm amazed and scared about how active he is. Just the other day, he used a toy of his as a step stool and managed to climb on top of the brick surrounding the fireplace. I was watching nearby and moved him back to the floor as soon as I determined he could do it.

He's been kind of clumbsy (or maybe I should say daring) today. He's making several attempts to walk and has gotten a few war scars in the process. He's got a little scratch under his eye from falling while trying to take his first steps. It's moments like this that I miss our 600 sq. ft. apartment. It was much easier to do housework and keep an eye on him when our place was much smaller.

Connor and I are going to a pumpkin patch this Saturday for the Alabama vs. Ole Miss football game. I'm going to have his picture taken in his costume. It's so cute. I can't wait for everyone to see him in it. I dressed him in it this weekend and sent him crawling into the room where Jimmy was packing. The expression on Jimmy's face was priceless.

I posted the picture below because I thought Connor's hair looked funny. This was not a staged picture. It's a typical look for Connor when he's just stepped out of the bath.
