Connected again

I've finally been reconnected to the World Wide Web since Jimmy, Connor and I moved from San Diego to Mobile. Here is a brief summary of what we've been up to since we last logged on.

After loading the truck, we visited one last time with our newest friend, Aurora. We met her only 2 weeks before we moved. But managed to spend quite a bit of time with her before we left.

Next, we stopped by Beth and Jim's to celebrate their quickly approaching wedding in Las Vegas and to say our goodbye's. We had pizza and spirits and before we knew it we were coerced into spending the night. We left early the next morning and began the 30 hour car ride to Mobile, AL.

Amazingly, we had a very easy trip. Jimmy and I put in about 14 hours of driving the first day, taking advantage of Connor's desire to sleep in a moving car. We stopped just east of El Paso and called it quits for the first day. We made a lot of headway the following day too. We stopped in Antonio so that Connor could get in some good crawling time and Jimmy could take a nap (he can sleep anywhere). Despite the long breaks and stops for food, we were able to drive all the way to a small town in Louisiana, just west of Baton Rouge. We realize that's only a few hours from Mobile, but we didn't have the energy to drive any further, plus we always feel bad when Connor has been strapped into the car seat for a long time.

We made it to Mobile just after lunch and immediately started fielding phone calls to family members. The first person I spoke to when I was in town was my brother, Michael. He has three little girls who were so excited to have Connor back in town. He had no idea I was in town but happened to call my cell phone to try and line up a day on his boat with Jimmy.
