Chillin

Connor, Katie (Connor's cousin) and I went to McDonald's for lunch today. It was a spontaneous trip and we had so much fun. We were there for about two hours. Katie and I both had the same thing--chicken nuggets and french fries (go figure, it's known that I enjoy the same food as the average 4-year-old). I fed Connor before we left, so he just chilled with us while he drank sweet tea from his sippy cup.

He's made some amazing headway since last Friday. I was just telling a friend of mine, who also has a baby Connor's age, that Connor hadn't expressed any interest in holding his own bottle and drinking from a sippy cup. Later that night, he amazed me by holding his own bottle during his last feeding before bedtime. Then, on Sunday, he finally figured how to hold and drink from his sippy cup. This is good news, because our doctor wants Connor to be weaned from his bottle by the time he is 9 months.

Now if your keeping track of Connor's development, here's a list of what he has accomplished so far:

rolling over
sitting up
scooting
crawling
pulling up
standing (for a couple of seconds)
holding his own bottle
drinking from a sippy cup

My parents seem to think he will be walking real soon--at least by the time he is 9 months. I guess it's time to face the facts and baby proof the entire house. Just today, he made it into my parent's foyer before I could catch him and turned over their ficas tree. Katie and I saw it all happening in slow motion and were glad to see that he didn't cry after the fall. Instead, he laughed when the tree landed on top of him and squirmed like a worm trying to get out from underneath it.
